Background
Who is Meyer Parkett?
Meyer Parkett is one of Austria's most traditional flooring and terrace manufacturers, 135 years old, fifth generation, grown from a small carpentry business to a vertically integrated mid-market company with its own production, natural stone division, outdoor segment and service organization. Five business units under one roof, with all the cross-connections a family business of this size carries.
Digitalization long ran through individual tools: ERP for accounting, separate lists for quotations, Excel for production planning, email for complaints. Each department chose its own tool at some point, without any clean cross-departmental workflow mapping.
Industry: Flooring / Terraces / Natural Stone · Founded: 1890 (5th generation) · Locations: Austria, Germany (showrooms) · UNOY model: Self
The Challenge
What was difficult before.
For a mid-market company of this size, the classic answer is: a dedicated IT department with developers. Meyer Parkett did not want that, because the investment is substantial and because knowledge about the departments sits with the department heads, not with an external software firm.
The second classic answer: many small SaaS tools. Not ideal either: each tool its own data silo, each interface its own project, each new requirement a sales conversation.
What was missing was a platform on which department heads could themselves map their recurring workflows, with AI where language and classification are needed, with rules where obligations and approvals are needed. A platform that fits the scale of a family business.

Application
What Meyer does with UNOY.
Five matter types, all built by the Meyer Parkett team themselves. From first customer contact to the warranty file as connected workflows.
Sales
Order intake & terrace configuration.
01 · Sales
Customer gets in touch via web form or showroom. UNOY OS structures the request: customer interest form, measurement sheet, terrace configurator. Data flows directly into the ERP without duplicate entry.
Quotation
Material and effort calculated.
02 · Quotation
From the measurement data, UNOY calculates the material requirements, pulls prices from master data and estimates installation hours. A pre-filled quotation reaches the field team for approval.
Dealer
Partner onboarding and lead distribution.
03 · Dealer
Dealer registration as a workflow: contract, documents, training certificate. Web inquiries are assigned by region: lead status, follow-up appointments and communication all run through the same system.
Project
From order to the warranty file.
04 · Project
Order, delivery date, installation report, customer consent declarations, acceptance, warranty file, all as one connected matter. When the customer calls three years later, the history is available.
Quality
Customer surveys, complaints, audit.
05 · Quality
After every order, a rule-based feedback survey. Complaints are triaged (warranty / maintenance / user error). Everything documented for quality assurance, with an audit trail for every decision.
Routing Logic
Clear (warranty/user error): Response draft proceeds · Edge case: Flagged to service lead · No match: Stop, manual review.
Plus additional workflows from the other business units, from field sales reports to warranty applications and showroom appointment scheduling. 15+ in total, all built by the Meyer Parkett team themselves.
Learnings
What Meyer Parkett taught us.
Self mode works when department heads are on board. At Meyer Parkett, department heads feel confident building workflows because they know their expertise better than any external developer. UNOY OS is the tool; the knowledge stays in-house.
Workflows grow organically. It was not one large project, but many small ones. First quotations, then complaints, then material scheduling. Each workflow had to land in practice before the next was started.
AI as a tool, not an end in itself. At Meyer Parkett, success does not mean "we use AI." Success means: a matter that used to take 40 minutes now takes 8 minutes, at the same quality. AI operates in the background. In the foreground stands the well-functioning process.
Frequently Asked
What you should know about this case.
How long did the setup take?
The first live workflow (quotation preparation) was in production approximately 6 weeks after kickoff. Subsequent workflows were faster as the Meyer Parkett team was already familiar with UNOY OS. Today, a department head typically builds a new workflow in 2 to 3 weeks.
Who on the team builds the workflows?
Three department heads and an internal workflow owner. No dedicated developers: sufficient understanding of processes, Excel and logic is enough. UNOY's initial support decreased after the first 2 workflows.
Which existing systems are connected?
ERP · Accounting software · Email server · Customer portal · Material database. Connected via REST API and webhooks: no custom development required as UNOY OS includes standard integrations. The family business stays with the tools it knows; UNOY OS connects them.
What is the biggest success?
Not a single number, but that department heads now say: "This is our platform." They no longer wait for an IT project; they build themselves.
Where is the data stored? What does GDPR compliance look like?
EU data centers in Frankfurt and Vienna · Data processing agreement (sub-DPA) on request · Sub-processor list documented. Quotation and customer data remain within the family business: UNOY OS processes only what is required for the workflow.
How controlled is the workflow usage?
UNOY OS implements an AI management system according to ISO/IEC 42001. Matter inventory, risk assessment per workflow, approval stamp per matter, quarterly review trigger. For Meyer Parkett, this means: every workflow is documented, every decision is traceable, even when the family business builds itself.
What happens if UNOY ceases operations?
Upon contract termination, Meyer Parkett receives all workflows, skills and audit logs as an export. The workflow rules are documented as JSON logic, portable to another provider or operable locally. Self mode also means: no lock-in concern.

Product Category
This story belongs to UNOY Back Office.
UNOY Back Office is the product category for recurring workflows built and operated in the back office: workflow engine, template library, integration with existing systems, audit trail. The same pattern that Meyer Parkett uses across 15 non-legal workflows also runs in law firms, Stenzel, Puttinger Vogl, Esterer, as the Legal Back Office variant: powers of attorney, client intake, contract templates, Advocat and WinCause integration.
In the case of Meyer Parkett: over 15 workflows in a 135-year family business, from sales to market research to file maintenance, built in-house, operated in-house. Self mode without external IT dependency. Three law firms (Stenzel, Puttinger Vogl, Esterer) use the same platform in the Legal Back Office variant.
