Background
Who is FairPlane?
FairPlane enforces airline passenger rights. Since 2011, under EU Regulation 261/2004. Delays, cancellations, overbookings. As a litigation funder, FairPlane carries the risk: clients pay only on success, 20 to 35% commission, with cases handled by contracted attorneys.
Today portals operate in Germany and Austria, plus branded claims calculators for ADAC and Arbeiterkammer. 100,000 cases per year.
The Problem
When every regulatory change costs weeks.
The claims calculator is FairPlane's most important tool. It takes in cases, assesses them legally, identifies claim options, asks the right follow-up questions and prepares the mandate.
Previously this tool came from an external web agency. Every legal change was a development ticket. What was legally clear in an hour took weeks to implement.
When a workflow must constantly adapt to new law, that is not merely inconvenient. It is a business risk.
Voice
With UNOY's solution we have our risk under control and have expanded our sales opportunities. At the same time we have cut costs and offer better customer service.
In production · Skribe Delivery System
Skribe Rechtsanwälte carries legal accountability for every outcome. UNOY OS processes the cases agentically. FairPlane acquires clients and communicates with them. Three roles, one delivery path. That is the Skribe Delivery System.
Application
How FairPlane uses UNOY.
Input
Capture flight data.
The passenger selects from the flights found. UNOY retrieves the data via the Eurocontrol API. The portal runs under its own URL: for ADAC, Arbeiterkammer or FairPlane directly.

UNOY Engine
Assess the claim.
UNOY OS calculates the compensation under EU 261/2004. When case law changes, lawyers adjust the rule engine themselves. No developer ticket, no waiting time.
Routing logic
Clear claim position: workflow runs through · Borderline case (new case law, unclear facts): escalation to Skribe attorney with reasoning · No match: stop with notification to FairPlane.

Result
Create the offer.
Payout amount with commission is clearly displayed. Terms, cancellation policy and privacy are integrated. One screen is all it takes.

Power of attorney
Obtain power of attorney digitally.
Power of attorney for Skribe Rechtsanwälte, acceptance of assignment, client identification. All on one page, signed once. The data then goes directly to the contracted attorneys.

Organisation
All cases organised.
Every case, every KAPP, every onboarding sits in UNOY OS. Versioning, audit trail, multi-tenant capability. ADAC, Arbeiterkammer and FairPlane run in parallel from a single system.

In UNOY OS
Maintained in UNOY OS.
The claims calculator is mapped in the UNOY Designer as rule logic. New case law is implemented in hours. Accountable for every result: Skribe Rechtsanwälte in the Delivery model.

Lessons learned
What FairPlane taught us.
FairPlane was one of the first customers to put UNOY into full production. 100,000 cases per year, with ADAC and Arbeiterkammer as partners. What became clear in the process:
Regulated workflows are not an exception. They are the standard case, as soon as anyone works with applicable law. Those who need a platform for this want to be able to change the logic themselves rather than negotiate their way through a developer queue.
And multi-tenant capability is not a feature but the growth lever. From a single base workflow, FairPlane runs four partner portals without rebuilding the base system each time.
Frequently asked
What you should know about this case.
What is FairPlane?
FairPlane is one of the leading airline passenger rights service providers in Europe. Since 2011 the company has been enforcing compensation claims under EU Regulation 261/2004: for flight delays, cancellations and overbookings. FairPlane processes over 100,000 cases per year and works with partners such as ADAC and Arbeiterkammer.
Which UNOY model does FairPlane use?
FairPlane uses the UNOY Delivery model. UNOY and Skribe Rechtsanwälte take over setup, operations and legal accountability. FairPlane scales the business without an in-house development team and without legal risk.
Who is accountable at FairPlane for the AI-assisted results?
Legal accountability rests with Skribe Rechtsanwälte, with professional indemnity and attorney-client privilege. That is the core of the Skribe Delivery System: Skribe as legal carrier, UNOY OS as the platform, FairPlane as operational sales.
How does the FairPlane claims calculator work technically?
The claims calculator is modelled as a UNOY workflow. Eurocontrol APIs supply flight data; EU Regulation 261/2004 is encoded as editable rule logic; legal adjustments are made without developer tickets. Each case is processed in under three minutes from input to mandate-ready result. More in the UNOY applications catalogue.
What is the Skribe Delivery System?
The Skribe Delivery System is the delivery chain of three roles: Skribe Rechtsanwälte carries legal accountability for every outcome. UNOY OS processes the cases agentically. The operational sales partner, in this Customer Case FairPlane, acquires clients and communicates with them. More on the UNOY Delivery page.
What happens if UNOY or Skribe cease operations?
At contract end, the client receives all workflows, data and audit logs as an export. The rule engine is documented as JSON logic. For regulated matters, the statutory retention periods apply via Skribe Rechtsanwälte. There is no lock-in; the legal logic is portable.
